UNDP Lesotho selected to document UNDP’s contribution to the HIV Response

As part of a global initiative to document UNDP’s work on HIV, UNDP Lesotho was successful in its application to be part of the countries selected to produce a short documentary. Through this initiative UNDP Lesotho will showcase the processes, results and impact, of its support to the implementation of the Community Capacity Enhancement through Community Conversation (CCE-CC) methodology in the response to the HIV epidemic.

In September 2008, UNDP in collaboration with the Lesotho Network of People living with HIV & AIDS (LENEPWHA) re-launched the Community Capacity Enhancement through Community Conversations (CCE-CC) programme. This project supports the Government of Lesotho in strengthening community responses to HIV from prevention to improving access to services and their delivery. The project is currently active in three additional Community Councils from the 2005 pilot phase, being Butha-Buthe, Leribe, and Mafeteng. The aim of Community Conversations is to provide a platform where communities can deliberate on and jointly act on dealing with the ramifications of HIV & AIDS and related social challenges affecting their lives and the country’s development.
